Preliminary report
Written on 02/17/2009 /// 687 × read /// No comments yet
The fat Slurg is growing up. The welded parts, the Slurg framework, are covered with the wiremesh. The next step is the fabric and the glue, which keeps the construction grounded. After that the papermaché party with A LOT of Paste follows. I am looking forward for this part!
One arm is already covered, at the moment he looks like a swamp monster.

Prototypes done
Written on 02/15/2009 /// 623 × read /// 2 Comments

After hours and hours of sanding and repairing broken corners it´s finally done. The Slurg Prototypes are ready to mould. In context of a group critique on Friday we had a mini exhibition of the finished objects (which turned out pretty well by the way). In the background (pink) you can see the first two moulds. The white things on the right hand side are the mothermoulds of them but they won´t be used cause the silicon-rubber keeps for itself if filled.

The huge one
Written on 02/01/2009 /// 680 × read /// 2 Comments
As i have written, there is a huge Slurg comming into existence besides the five little slurgtoys.
Because of the weight which i want to hold relatively light, i just used welded copper bars.
The whole thing will be covered with wiremesh, fabric, and paper-mâché.

Here is another detail of the Construct. Others would sell this as art.
Little big preview
Written on 01/29/2009 /// 670 × read /// One Comment
Today you get a little big preview about my running project, which i want to finish till end of march. The project is about the three Dinmensional covering of my Slurg. Aim to reach is, to produce 5 little slurgs in plastic. Furthermore there is a big larger-than-life Slurg in development. (more about this, in the following posts)
The picture shows you the row of Slurgs.
The Slurg on the left hand side is almost ready to be cast. Just a little bit more sanding for him.
Two of them (2.f.l und 3.f.l.) are just rough cutted. Number five and six are fresh baked today.
Im really curious about the achievement and hold you up to date!
