Slurg-Font

Finally it happened, the Slurg got his own font. I creativately named him Slurg font.
The font is completely written and created by my own. Attached you find some pretty font samples.

Slurg.de hack-attack

Yesterday, around 6:00pm my server system got a hack-attack.
I had luck cause i made a backup just the morning before, so no real damage could be done.

Usually im on the hackers side, cause i find it funny to see when hackers leave some little messages,
funny pictures or doing some other crazy stuff.
However, what happend in the end is nothing really bad. The Hacker just replaced the index pages with an extremely misserable graphic, underlayed with russian marshmusic, which introduces him as an “happy” turk and muslime.

As long as the hackers are nerdy freaks, who have nothing better to do, than hacking random pages, i can defenetly laugh, but not if there are sitting some fanatic religions who wanna tell everyone about there religious oppinion, which noone cares about anyways. But the worst thing for me is, that exactely acting like that falls back to them and their religion and throws all of them into the mudd. ( Don´t even know if you can say that in english…)
But the graphic ofcourse i don´t wanna keep for me;) I just errased the names, he had enough advertisement yet.

PS: Dear Hackers, if you are going to do a hack-attack, please leave some nice prepared pictures.
Those Word-powepoint-clipart-gifs are just cruel and an insult for the eyes.

PSS: Is it normal that hackers leave an email adress?
I thought the whole sense is to cover the tracks, am i wrong here?

Slurg Papertoy#2 /// Preview

Just a quick preview on a new Slurg papertoy im working on right now.
I have to adjust a few things here and there before it´s done completely. The skill level you need to build the toy,
is a little higher then last time. However, the result is worth the good 2 hours of straight work.

Customize the Slurg-papertoy CONTEST!

For the birth of my first Slurg-papertoy i invite you to a little customize-contest.

The rules:

- download template (letter, .eps), (A4, .eps) or (A4 .pdf)
- Edit the toy by hand or computer, paint on it, draw on it, create something new with or on it, do whatever you like.
- Build the papertoy!
- Take a picture, crop the toy, that it is staying above a white Background.
- Send max. 3 pictures of the custom toy to slurg@slurg.de
- Maximum1 toy a person.

The prize:

1 X Pack of the Slurg poster edition#1 + 1 of each Slurg-Buttonpack

Deadline is February 13th, 2010 (Middle European time GMT+01:00 Berlin)

The finalist and all other participates will be showcased in my blog.

Slurg Papertoy

Shortly before Christmas i stumbled upon papertoys, while doing another job. I really liked it and decided to make my own Slurg papertoy. After different model options, some simple and some more complex, i came to the final version which can now be downloaded as a .pdf in DIN A4 or as Letter.
If you like to customize the papertoy, feel free to download the blank papertoy as an .eps (letter/5,83MB).
It takes approximately 30 minutes to build the slurg. Enjoy.

PS: i am looking forward to seeing your personally built Slurg army or pictures of your customized papertoy.

Stickers 2

I dont even now how long it have been, that i submitted some pictures for the Stickers 2 book project. But eventually i got the flowers directely in shape of a fresh pressed book, with a special yellow cover. Awesome!
But hold on, It gets better! My pictures are printed too. Two pages for the “Collecting Slurg”
Besides the Slurg entry, that book is amazing and totaly worth to put it on the christmas wishlist!

Exhibition Poster special

For the upcoming show All Eyes on Art I poduced an extra limited edition of “Slurg poster packs”.
Each pack contains three different posters at the format ~Din A3 which are all signed and numbered.
